Pakistan 1H export volumes and revenue down22 January 2014, Published under Cement NewsPakistan exports declined both in terms of volume and value in the first six months of the current fiscal, data from the Bureau of Statistics shows. Cement exports totalled 4.206Mt on revenues of US$257.07m compared to 4.681Mt at US$304.31m. This translates into a 10.15 per cent decline in volume and 15.52 per cent fall in dollar value on a YoY basis. CG invests in Nepalese plants22 January 2014, Published under Cement NewsNepal´s leading business conglomerate Chaudhary Group (CG) is investing NPR10bn (US$101m) on cement plants in Dumkibas of Nawalparasi and Palpa. The CG brand of cement produced at the Dumkibas-based plant has already hit the market. The factory produces 1300tpd. Similarly, CG is also setting up both clinker and cement plants in Palpa with an investment of NPR7.5bn in the Palpa plants. |

ACC reports full-year loss, Saudi Arabia21 January 2014, Published under Cement NewsSaudi producer Arabian Cement Company (ACC) reported SAR190m (US$50.7m) in net earnings in FY13, a 50.96 per cent decline compared with SAR387.4 min FY12. In the fourth quarter of 2013, ACC reported a loss of SAR108.7m against a loss of SAR82.3m in the corresponding period of the previous year.
