Ecuador Jan-November sales rise 9.8%

Ecuador cement sales over the January-November 2013 period increased by 9.8 per cent to 6.043Mt, latest data from industry association Inecyc shows. During November 2013 sales were 594,814t, a 5.9 per cent increase on the 561,534t recorded in the same period of last year. However, dispatches were down on a MoM basis, compared to the 611,987t recorded in October 2013.

Semen Indonesia anticipates double-digit 2014 sales increase

Semen Indonesia expects an 11 per cent sales increase this year as the country’s leading producer enhances its distribution network to better serve expected increases in demand. Pakistan cement dispatches during the second quarter of the current fiscal are expected to have increased by 5.13 per cent on a QoQ basis to 8.2Mt compared to 7.8Mt in the first three months of the year. ARM awaits board approval for South African project

ARM Cement is still awaiting board approval for the construction of a new cement plant in South Africa,  the company's managing director, Pradeep Paunrana, has said. Mafikeng Cement, in which ARM has a 70 per cent stake, plans to build a plant a 3000tpd plant in Africa's largest economy, Paunrana told Nairobi-based Business Daily newspaper, Bloomberg reported. Colombia: market expands 6.9% in November

Grey cement production in Colombia during November 2013 totalled 1.02Mt, a 9.6 per cent increase when compared with the same month of the previous year. Akhangarancement, part of Eurocement Group, has reported a rise in clinker in cement production in the first 11 months of 2013. Over January-November, the Russia-based producer produced 1.074Mt of clinker and 1.47Mt of cement, a YoY rise of 11.7 and 2.2 per cent, respectively. Ha Tien 1 Cement JSC (HT1) has completed the issuance of 120m new shares in a private placement to Vietnam Cement Industry Corporation (Vicem), the country’s leading cement producer. HT1, listed on the Ho Chi Minh stock exchange, sold the shares at VND10,000 each, according to a statement sent to the bourse. Peru’s Jan-Nov demand advances 7.5% YoY

Cement dispatches in Peru fell from 939,135t in October to 896,600t in November. However, the country’s cement companies produced 920,636t, up from 916,774t the previous month and cement exports rose from 18,090t to 23,236t during the period. For January to November, Peruvian cement demand increased by 7.45 per cent YoY to 9,408,853t while exports rose 5.33 per cent to 182,427t. Around 9,598,552t of cement was produced, an advance of 6.9 per cent when compared with Jan-Nov 2012.
