Fabrika Cementa Lukavac to export to Libya

Bosnia-based cement producer Fabrika Cementa Lukavac is set to export 30,000t of cement to Libya by the end of the year, local media said on Wednesday. The first two trains with 1258t of cement are on the way to the final destination, with 4500-5000t in total to be sent this week, news portal eKapija.ba said. Pakistan cement sales are expected to increase by six per cent YoY in September 2013 on the back of a rise in domestic demand. Dispatches are forecast to climb to 2.76Mt for the month compared to 2.61Mt in the same period of last year. Cimentos de Mocambique begins trial tests on new mill

Cimentos de Mocambique has started trial tests of a new mill at its Dondo works, local press have reported. With this investment, the company will increase capacity by around 0.5Mta of cement from the present 0.4Mta. The Dondo works currently serves the Sofala, Tete, Manica and southern Zambézia provinces. In July of this year Cimentos de Moçambique signed a rental contract on a mill located near the Matola plant, thus increasing its production capacity by 220,000tpa.

Najran Cement's Line 3 begins production

Najran Cement has said that commercial production of its third production line has started. The Saudi-based cement producer said output was launched on 21 September 2013. Cemex invested EUR4.4m in the construction of a new clinker silo in its Lloseta works, Spain. The new facility is designed with sustainability in mind and includes the latest emissions control systems, with hermetic closures, dust extraction filters. Vietnam producers increase prices

Vietnam producers have increased cement prices by VND100,000/t (US$4.71) to help mitigate higher input costs despite domestic demand remaining subdued. The increase is due to the rising cost of inputs such as petroleum, coal and power. The average selling price is now VND1.28m. SCG outlines Indonesian plant spend

Thailand-based Siam Cement Group (SCG) is expanding its southeast Asian presence by constructing a new cement plant on the island of West Java, Indonesia, through its subsidiary PT Semen Jawa. “The total investment for this factory is IDR3.4trn [US$304.7m],” SCG CEO Kan Trakulhoon told local press on Monday. Saudi: strong growth expected to continue
