ABG set to bring new cement ventures on-stream, India

The ABG Group of India is set to start production from its new cement ventures this quarter. Under ABG Cement Ltd, the company is constructing a 3Mta clinker unit in the village of Thumdi in Kutch and a 5.8Mta grinding works in the village of Mora, Surat, Gujarat state. The foundation stone for the expansion of CIMERWA cement factory in Rwanda was laid yesterday by the president of the African nation Paul Kagame. Euro area construction output down 0.4 per cent in November

Construction output in the 17-nation euro area decreased 0.4 per cent in November according to first estimates released by Eurostat. In Germany, Europe’s largest economy, November construction advanced one per cent from a month earlier, while Spain gained 1.2 per cent, according to today’s report. Paraguay’s INC records rise in 2H12 cement sales

Paraguay’s Industria Nacional de Cemento (INC) posted a 56 per cent jump in second half 2012 sales compared to the first half of the year. The company sold 6,337,786 bags of cement in the second half of 2012 compared to 4,051,637 bags sold in the first six months. Cement deliveries in the Peruvian market reached 9,571,920t in 2012, a 15.4 per cent rise when compared with 2011, according to cement manufacturers’ association Asocem.
