Arabian Cement Company said that a fire which broke out at its third cement mill at its plant in Rabigh on 20 September was caused by an electrical problem, Construction Week reports. Ecuador sales rise 4.3 per cent, Jan-Sept

Sales by domestic cement producers in Ecuador reached 4.36Mt between January-September 2012, up 4.3 per cent YoY compared to the same period of last year (4.18Mt). Data from the Instituto Ecuatoriano del Cement Y Hormigon shows that sales for September 2012 reached 519,919t representing a 4.1 per cent rise compared to September 2011 figures which stood at 499,369t.

Indonesia and Japan have reach an agreement that could see up to US$43bn invested in 45 infrastructure projects in the Indonesian capital, Jakarta, by 2020.
