Brazil 12 month accumulated sales up 13.8%

Preliminary data industry data and market estimates indicate that accumulated domestic cement sales over the 12 months from December 2009-November 2010  reached 58.4Mt, representing an increase of 13.8 per cent against the same YoY period (December 2008-November 2009).

 In November 2010 alone, domestic cement sales were 5.1Mt. Between January 2010-November 2010, sales amounted to 54.3Mt.

Pakistan cement exports fall ?

Pakistan exported 448,833t of cement and earned US$31.481m in November 2010 compared to 796,637t at US$45.310m in October 2010. This reflects a negative growth of 43.66 and 30.52 per cent in terms of quality and value in dollar respectively on month-on-month basis, according to data released by Federal Bureau of Statistics, Government of Pakistan. 
 
If compared with November 2009, (896,857t at US$40.596m) the export of cement also downed by 43.66% and 30.52% in terms of quantity and value...

Philippine cement sales in 2010 likely grew at a slower pace from 2009 which saw increased construction activity to repair the damage caused by Tropical Storm Ondoy and Typhoon Pepeng, an industry group official yesterday said. Illinois Cement workers will be heading back to the plant in the New Year uncertain of how many days of work they’ll have before a presumed layoff begins. Cemex, has agreed to pay US$1.5 million in overtime to 1705 truck drivers in North Carolina and seven other states, settling a federal court lawsuit, the US Department of Labor has announced. The department began an investigation of Cemex pay practices after receiving a complaint about the company’s Tampa, Fla., operation, it said. Khoy cement factory in West Azarbaijan province, Iran has entered into full service on 1st January 2011. Bahrain cement companies are reportedly conspiring to increase prices by 30 per cent but are being confronted head-on by the government. In a bid to avert another building crisis, the Industry and Commerce Ministry is co-ordinating with other government departments to stop them.
