Bolivian cement producer Coboce  is raising its output from 27,500 bags per day to 33,000. To meet this demand, the company is importing 40,000t of clinker from Argentina. Shree announces capacity expansion, India

Shree Cement on Thursday said it will invest INR3,500 crore to expand its cement production capacity by 7Mt in the next five years. 

"We have a production capacity of 13Mt, which we will expand to 20Mt by 2015," Shree Cement Managing Director HM Bangur said on the sidelines of 49th annual meet of Cement Manufacturer’s Association.

PPC sales drop significantly, South Africa

Pretoria Portland Cement (PPC), SA’s largest cement producer, said yesterday that its sales had decreased significantly since 2007, but that energy and mining projects in Africa would help to lift sales to previous levels.

German cement manufacturers increased their utilisation of refuse derived fuels last year. According to recent figures from the German Association German Cement Kilns (VDZ), the alternative fuel substitution rate reached over 58 per cent. Prism Cement starts Madhya Pradesh unit, India

Prism Cement Ltd. announced that it has started the commercial production of 3.6Mt second cement unit in Satna, Madhya Pradesh.   The company said in a notice to National Stock Exchange that it will now be able to despatch total 6.6Mt cement and clinker from both its units at Satna. Currently, 3Mt of cement and clinker is dispatched by the company from its existing unit Unit-I.
