Siam Cement PCL, Thailand’s largest industrial conglomerate by sales, said Monday the strength of the baht will hurt its third quarter net profit, though the impact will likely be insignificant due to higher prices of products. Ahangarancement open joint stock company exported 216,452t of cement in the first eight months of 2010, which is up 126.25% YoY. Russia’s Eurocement Group, owner of Akhangarancement, said that the enterprise surpassed plans on cement export in past period of 2010. Vietnam Cement Industry Corporation (Vicem) sold 11.578Mt of cement and clinker in the first eight months of this year, rising 5.4% from a year earlier and fulfilling 60.9% of its full-target. Of the sum, 11.44Mt were cement and 135,000t were clinker, up 5.3% and 9.8% on-year, respectively, the corporation said on its website Monday.
