Vietnam: Hoang Phat Vissai Group receives loan for project development

The Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) has agreed to lend Hoang Phat Vissai Group VND6.3trn (US$296m) to to develop the Song Lam cement plant in the central province of Nghe An. The plant, which is being transformed from the Do Luong cement plant, is located in Bai Son commune, Do Luong district and has a production capacity of 18,000tpd of clinker. Cementos Argos has reported a 58.8 per cent rise in profit in 2014, coming in at COP291bn (US$145m), compared to COP183bn in 2013. Output at Krasnoyarsk Cement, part of Siberian Cement (SibCem), is expected to have edged ahead by 1.32 per cent YoY to 922,000t in 2014 versus the 910,000t produced a year earlier. Krasnoyarsk Cement has been undertaking a modernisation programme to increase capacity and enhance environmental performance. At the heart of the project is the launch of a new dry-process line to double capacity at the factory. 

US$125m CAF loan signed for Guayaquil project

Holcim Ecuador SA has signed a loan contract for US$125m with the Latin American development bank, CAF. The funds will finance the modernisation of Holcim’s Guayaquil plant. Eurocement Group and Sinoma International Engineering Co  have signed an agreement for the modernisation of three plants at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in Beijing.
