Cement production in Tajikistan drops 9% in Jan-May

In the January-May 2022 period cement production in Tajikistan has declined 8.6 per cent YoY to 1.6Mt from 1.8Mt. In 2021 the country produced more than 4.2Mt with approximately 1.5Mt exported to Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan. At the start of June 2022 construction started of the 0.1Mta Fon-Cement cement plant in the Sughd region.

Holcim Maroc inaugurates Agadir plant

Holcim has opened its 1.6Mta Agadir-Souss plant in southern Morocco. Jindal to build new 2.5Mta plant in Raigarh

India’s Jindal Group and the Chhattisgarh government have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a new cement plant in Raigarh district in the easternmost part of Chhattisgarh State. According to reports in the Times of India, the new facility will have a production capacity of around 2.5Mta of cement and 2.5Mta of clinker. Burundi company Intracom is finalising the process to set up clinker and cement plants in Kigoma, according to the Daily News. Birla Corp ’s newest cement plant, Reliance Cement Co ’s Mukutban integrated plant, has started dispatching clinker.
