Colonel Assimi Goïta, interim president and the current head of state for Mali, laid the foundation stone for Cimenterie Atlas, a new grinding plant at Dio Gare, Koulikoro region, Mali on 2 June 2022. Jindal to build new 2.5Mta plant in Raigarh

India’s Jindal Group and the Chhattisgarh government have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a new cement plant in Raigarh district in the easternmost part of Chhattisgarh State. According to reports in the Times of India, the new facility will have a production capacity of around 2.5Mta of cement and 2.5Mta of clinker. The plant will also have a 12MW waste heat recovery system. 

IFC to fund Diamond Cement Guinea with US$30m loan

New cement and clinker plants for Burundi

Burundi company Intracom is finalising the process to set up clinker and cement plants in Kigoma, according to the Daily News. The cement plant will have a capacity of 0.6Mta while the clinker plant will have a 1Mta capacity. Birla Corp ’s newest cement plant, Reliance Cement Co ’s Mukutban integrated plant, has started dispatching clinker. Conch KT Cement Co Ltd has completed a feasibility study on a cement plant planned for northwestern Kampong Speu province in Cambodia and is now working on the legal procedures to break ground, according to Vei Samnang, the provincial governor. India-based Shree Cement has started trial run of its new clinkerisation unit (Kiln 3) at its integrated plant in Baloda Bazar, near Raipur in Chhattisgarh.
