India’s Securities and Exchange Board (SEBI) has put a temporary halt on the initial public offering (IPO) of JSW Cement. The IPO included a new equity issuance and an offer for sales from existing shareholders. The cement company had filed its draft prospectus in August 2024 and aimed to raise ~INR40bn. President Sadyr Japarov of Kyrgyzstan has launched the Terek Tash clinker factory in Kemin district.  The new 1.5Mta cement plant is an investment agreement between the government and the consortium of Terek Tash LLC and Zenit LLC. The construction of a new UGX730m (US$196,180.8m) cement factory has begun on a 50-acre (20.2ha) plot in the Buikwe district of Uganda. Ambuja Cement Ltd , part of Adani Cements , has announced a cement grinding unit in Bihar, investing INR16bn (US$190.8m). Bihar Chief Minister, Nitish Kumar, laid the foundation stone for the facility at Warsaliganj in the Nawada district on 4 August 2024. Mexico-based  Cooperativa la Cruz Azul  has presented plans for the construction of a new industrial unit to manufacture cement in the municipality of Seybaplaya, southwest of the capital of Campeche.
