Ambuja Cement ( Adani Group ) has announced a plan to add 1GW of solar and wind generation capacity. The company will invest INR60bn (US$72m) in solar and wind projects in two Indian states. Bamburi Cement is building two solar photovoltaic power plants, which will provide up to 30 per cent of the cement producer’s total power requirement. CEMEX Poland has entered into a long-term contract with Statkraft for the supply of green electricity from renewable sources, which is confirmed and secured by the purchase of a Guarantees of Origin (GOs). Saint-Gobain has signed a 14-year renewable electricity supply agreement with Alpiq Energie France. The contract covers the purchase of electricity generated by two solar farms located in Moselle, northeast France. Holcim Philippines has signed a power purchase agreement with Berde Renewables, a distributed energy platform of I Squared Capital.
