Karachi Cement Dealer Welfare Association (KCDWA) has demanded appointment of permanent chairman in State Cement Corporation (SCC). In a statement Saturday, president KCDWA Nawab Yousuf Siddiqui and other officebearers said that caretaker Chairman of SCC Zahid Aziz has refuted to carry on their duties while it was some indication that a "junior and ill-famed officer" Aslam Chandio was going to be appointed as caretaker SCC chairman. He said the consumption of cement was gradually increasing in the country and it was need of time to appoint a permanent chairman in SCC so as to ameliorate poor working condition of the factory. Yousuf Siddiqui also demanded implementation of a constant policy in SCC with effective utilization of research departments of SCC that could reduce the prices of cement. He also demanded curtailment of black marketing and artificial shortage of cement.
