The MV Haji Abdul Jalil, a vessel carrying 850t of clinker, has anchored near Chandpur Launch Terminal after a crack developed on its keel on the Meghna river.
Most of the cement clinker has been damaged, reports Mohammad Asad who is in charge of the vessel.
The MV Haji Abdul Jalil had to anchor near the terminal on its journey from Holudiya in India. The ship was originally heading for Narayanganj and LafargeHolcim Cement's Meghnaghat plant.
