Tunisian clinker exports surge in 2018

Clinker exports in Tunisia increased 382 per cent to 1.5Mt in 2018 when compared with 311,000t in 2017, according to data published by the country’s Ministry of Industry and Small- and Medium-Sized Enterprises.

Cement exports edged up by 3.7 per cent YoY to 273,000t in 2018.

In terms of clinker production, output rose by 6.7 per cent YOY to 7.353Mt from 6.89Mt in 2017. Cement production remained stable at 7.3Mt when compared with 2017.

Domestic market demand also remained level at 7Mt when compared with the previous year.
