Vietnam producers target higher cement exports

Vietnam's cement industry is targeting exports of 25Mt in 2019, while domestic production is likely to top 70Mt, according to Vietnam Cement Association (VNCA) Chairman, Nguyen Quang Cung.

Vietnam's cement sector has been expanding with much of the new capacity in the central part of the country as Tháhn Thang Group Cement JSC, Vissai Group, ThaiGroup Corp (formerly Xuân Thanh Group) and Long Son Co Ltd chase higher sales volumes.

The export business has supported utilisation rates and the share of cement exports as opposed to lower-value clinker is increasing, which is driving up overall export value.
