Guatemala-based Cementos Progreso (CEMPRO) is seeking to increase its participation in the regional market. Following the investment made at its San Gabriel plant in San Juan Sacatepéquez, the Guatemalan company is exploring various investment areas in Central America, according to a company spokesperson. It recently entered the Belize and Panama markets and strengthened its participation in Honduras where they hold a leading position. The firm also has presence in Colombia (South America).
Cementos Progreso has a total cement capacity of 5Mta in Guatemala, Belize, Panama and Honduras and is expected to strengthen the company’s participation in export markets.
