Bangladesh cement exports rise

Bangladesh manufacturers and exporters of cement, salt and stone have reported YoY growth of 46.33 per cent in the first eight months of FY2011-12 (July-February). Lafarge signs MoU for new university supply contract, Bangladesh

Bangladesh’s Lafarge Surma Cement (LSC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for its Supercrete cement brand to be used in the entire construction of the new Global University of Islamic Finance and Technology for the cement producer’s Michael Cowell, managing director of LSC and Dr MA Mannan, chairman of the proposed university signed the agreement in the presence of other senior executives from both organisations. HeidelbergCement inaugurates new mill, Bangladesh

HeidelbergCement officially inaugurated a new 0.8Mta cement ball mill at its plant in the seaport Chittagong, Bangladesh. The investment costs amount to approximately US$16m and aims to further serve the promising domestic market.
