According to the latest figures available, European cement production recorded a moderate growth of 0.9 per cent in 2015, compared to the previous year. Sandbag, a UK-based think tank, has released a report about the EU Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS) and argues that the ETS has actually led to an extra 15Mt of CO 2 being released and that if the scheme had never existed emissions would be lower. CEMBUREAU's Quarterly Economic Report for 4Q15, published yesterday, shows that no EU countries experienced recession in 2015.
