Cement demand in Colombia slipped by 0.6 per cent YoY in July 2022 to 1.125Mt from 1.132Mt in July 2021, reports the country’s statistics office, DANE. An UNTHA CR2000 shredder is set to drive forward Geofuturo’s energy-from-waste (EfW) operations in Colombia, converting the country’s waste into refuse-derived fuel (RDF) for the cement industry. Colombia’s cement demand advanced 4.2 per cent in June 2022 to 1.117Mt from 1.072Mt in June 2021, according to the country’s statistics office, DANE. Colombian cement dispatches saw a 3.7 per cent YoY uptick to 1.089Mt in April 2022 from 1.051Mt in April 2021, according to the country’s statistics office, DANE. In Colombia business tycoon Jaime Gilinski has launched a public acquisition offer for a sizeable stake in Grupo Argos. Mr Gilinski is seeking a stake of 26-32.5 per cent of Argos, which is the third company on the business magnate’s radar.
