Argentine April dispatches and consumption advance

Local cement producers in Argentina have reported a rise in dispatches (local and exports) for April 2013 whilst consumption on the local market has also demonstrated healthy gains, latest figures from the country's cement association, AFCP, show. In April 2013, Argentine Portland cement factories dispatched 975,081t of cement, including exports, representing an increase of 3.9 per cent compared to the previous month. Pakistan 10-month dispatches rise 4.09%

Pakistan cement dispatches rose by 4.09 per cent in the first 10 months of the current fiscal, the latest data from the All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA) shows. Dispatches for the 10 months to April 2013 reached 27.664Mt compared to 26.576Mt during the same period of the previous year. Vicem sales up 14.8% in first four months, Vietnam

State-owned Vietnam Cement Industry Corporation (Vicem) sold 6.94Mt of cement and clinker in the first four months of this year, rising by 14.8 per cent YoY. Of the total, 6.9Mt of cement and clinker was sold in the domestic market, up 21.7 per cent YoY, while 41,000t of cement was exported, a rise of nine per cent, the corporation said on its website late Wednesday. Armenian cement exports to Georgia double

Exports of cement from Armenia to Georgia have doubled in the first three months of the year compared to the same period of 2012. Armenpress reported that exports reached 36,568t, citing data from the government's State Revenue Committee. China exported 2.85Mt of cement and cement clinker worth of US$160m in the first quarter of 2013, a YoY increase of 30.6 per cent and 20.8 per cent respectively, according to data released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. Full year exports last year were expected to have reached 11.5Mt last year, up 8.5 per cent on the 10.6Mt in 2011. 

Pakistan nine-month exports volumes slip

Pakistan exported 6.22Mt of cement in the first nine months of FY12-13 earning US$421.12m, compared to 6.245Mt at US$342.95m in the same period of last year. This shows that exports fell by 0.39 per cent in terms of volume but were up by 22.79 per cent in terms of dollar value, according to data released by Pakistan’s Federal Bureau of Statistics. Vietnam first-quarter cement sales slip

Vietnam sold 9.48Mt of cement in the first quarter of this year, down slightly from 9.57Mt in the same period of last year, the Ministry of Construction (MoC) said. The decline was attributed to a stagnant real estate market, according to the MoC. Association warns of industry losses through exports, Vietnam

Despite the Vietnamese government calling for the domestic industry to increase exports, the chairman of the Vietnam Building Association has called for local producers to cooperate in a fair pricing environment to prevent further losses.
