Indonesia accounted for the largest share of Vietnam’s exports over the first five months of this year, according to data from the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade. Semen Indonesia is to invest in a IDR638bn (US$54.4m) waste heat power generation facility in East Java as the company looks to reduce costs and move towards more environmentally-friendly energy sources. Indonesian cement sales growth has slowed in the first six months of the year, leading to concerns that the country may miss its full year target. Indonesian cement sales growth picked up pace during May following a slowdown during the month before on the back of legislative elections.
