PT Semen Padang, part of the Semen Indonesia Group, has ordered a new cement production line with a capacity of 8000tpd from FLSmidth (Denmark), worth EUR40m (DKK 300m), according to a press release from the Danish equipment manufacturer. The Bosowa Corporation said it plans to start construction of a new cement plant in Cilegon, Banten, in the first quarter of next year. Company CEO, Erwin Aksa, told the Jakarta Post that should construction begin in March 2014, operations could commence by the end of 2015. Indocement has set a growth target of six per cent next year on the back of new capacity additions and rising domestic demand. Sales in Indonesia increased by 7.9 per cent in October, having experienced slowing growth in recent months. Data from the Indonesian Cement Association shows October sales reached 5.58Mt, rebounding from 5.3 per cent growth in the previous month. PT Semen Indonesia said it requires IDR6trn (US$508m) capital expenditure for expansion in 2014, the company’s president director has said.
