Moroccan cement deliveries fall 6% in January

Cement deliveries by members of Morocco’s cement association, APC, declined by six per cent YoY in January 2023 to 1,060,585t from 1,128,552t in January 2022, reported the cement association. The data reflects the sales by Asment Temara, Ciments de l’Atlas, Ciments du Maroc and LafargeHolcim Maroc. In 2022 cement deliveries by APC members saw a 10.7 per cent fall YoY to 12.487Mt from 13.975Mt in 2021, according to APC.

Les Ciments de Bizerte reports 5% revenue drop in 2022

Revenues of Tunisia-based Les Ciments de Bizerte saw a five per cent decline to TND123.8m (US$40.1m) in 2022 from TND130.8m in 2021. Domestic revenues edged up by 1.6 per cent YoY to TND112.4m in 2022, but exports were down 43.5 per cent YoY to TND11.4m from TND20.2m. Clinker production fell 24.2 per cent to 538,150t and 553,883t of cement. The drop in output was attributed to disruptions in raw material supply due to land issues. Moroccan cement sales down by quarter in December

Cement deliveries in Morocco decreased by 25 per cent in December 2022 to 942,317t from 1,255,552t in December 2021, according to the country’s cement association, APC. The monthly total includes sales by APC members Asment Temara , Ciments de l’Atlas , Ciments du Maroc and LafargeHolcim Maroc . In the full-year 2022 total deliveries fell by 10.7 per cent to 12.487Mt from 13.975Mt in 2021.

Cement deliveries by members of Morocco’s cement association, APC, ( Asment Temara , Ciments de l’Atlas , Ciments du Maroc and LafargeHolcim Maroc ) were down 9.4 per cent YoY to 1,112,013t in November 2022, according to the cement association. In the January-November 2022 period dispatches were down by 9.2 per cent to 11.544Mt when compared with the 12.719Mt dispatched in the 11M21.

Mondi opens Moroccan paper bagging factory

France-based Vicat SA has increased its stake in Egypt’s Sinai Cement from 51 per cent to 67 per cent. According to Reuters, Vicat bought additional shares worth US$5.65m from separate investors on 13 December 2022. Egypt’s Arabian Cement Company has reported revenue of EGP3333.9m (US$135.9m) in the first nine months of 2022, up from EGP1568.1m in the same period a year earlier. Arabian Cement Co (ACC) has announced the signing of an amendment to its 2019 contract with Amarenco SolarizEgypt (ASE) to establish a Solar Photovoltaic (PV) plant at its Suez facility.
