Novoroscement signs financing agreement with VTB Bank

VTB Bank has signed an agreement with Novoroscement, the largest cement producer in southern Russia, to provide a RUB920m (US$29m) credit line to finance the company’s current operations. “The borrowed finds will be used to finance the current activities of the enterprise,” VTB said. Dyckerhoff reported stable volumes for the first nine months of 2012 as the recovery in Russia and USA almost counterbalanced declines in the other regions. Holcim to modernize Volsk cement plant, Russia

Holcim Russia plans to invested EUR350m for the modernization of its Volsk plant. The project will include the installation of a new semi wet-process production line with a capacity of 4500tpd, replacing the wet process technique. Sibirsky Cement increased cement output 5.3 per cent YoY to 3.148Mt in the nine months to September 2012, the company said in a statement. Sibirsky Cement, which comprises three plants, sold 3.172Mt of cement in this period, a 6.2 per cent increase on the year. Russia’s leading cement producer is planning to build a new cement plant in the Blagodarnensky district of the Stavropol territory. Iskitimtsement, part of Russia-based RATM Holding, raised cement output by 23.1 per cent YoY to 1.123Mt in January-September, RIA Novosti news reported. Katavsky Cement, part of Russian market leader Eurocement Group, produced 146,008t of cement in August 2012, surpassing last year’s record of 138,005t. A ship carrying cement was facing detention in Drogheda on the east coast of Ireland last night due to an almost €80,000 in alleged unpaid crew wages, according to reports in the Irish Times. The MV Julia’s nine -man crew from Ukraine, Russia and Lithuania had not been paid since May, International Transport Workers Federation co-ordinator for Ireland and Britain Ken Fleming said. Sibirsky Cement 2011 net profit almost doubles, Russia

Sibirsky Cement’s net profit almost doubled to RUB1.4bn (US$42.9m) in 2011 from around RUB700m in 2010, as calculated in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), the company said in a statement on Thursday. Revenue increased by 42 per cent on the year to RUB12bn in 2011, while gross profit rose 52% to RUB6.9bn. EBITDA amounted to RUB3.03bn although no comparison was provided.
