The Construction Product Association’s latest State of Trade Survey reports a slowdown in growth in sales of construction products in the fourth quarter of 2015, owing to domestic weakness and a fall in export sales. Daniel Cooper has been appointed chief executive officer of Hanson UK, replacing Patrick O’Shea, who stepped down at Christmas after eight years at the head of the construction materials business. Breedon Aggregates of Leicestershire, UK, has agreed to acquire Hope Construction Materials for GBP336m (US$510.94m).
