Buzzi Unicem records 1Q20 net sales of EUR688.5m

Buzzi Unicem has released its 1Q20 results which saw net sales reach EUR688.5m, up 4.9 per cent on 1Q19. Cement sales rose by 0.4 per cent to 6Mt, while concrete volumes fell by 3.5 per cent to 2.5Mm 3 , compared to 1Q19. Net debt as at 31 March 2020 amounted to EUR525.2m, EUR46.6m lower compared to the year-end 2019. HeidelbergCement has recorded a seven per cent decline in revenue to EUR3.93bn for the first quarter of 2020, compared with EUR4.24bn in the year-ago period. Vicat reported a 2.6 per cent advance in total consolidated sales in the January-March 2020 period to EUR615.5m from EUR600m in the 1Q19. In the first three months of 2020, Argos (Grupo Argos) reported revenues of COP2.2trn (US$5.6bn), a figure that remains stable when compared to 2019. Cemex Holdings Philippines Inc announced that net sales decreased by 10 per cent during the 1Q20, versus the 1Q19, amounting to PHP5.6bn (US$110.7m). LafargeHolcim announced its 1Q20 results with net sales reaching CHF5.293bn (US$5.4bn), down 11.2 per cent from CHF5959m in the 1Q19. Vietnamese producers supplied 6,508,053t of cement to the domestic market in March 2020, according to the Vietnam National Cement Association (VNCA). Namangan Cement launches construction of second line

Uzbekistan's Namangan Cement LLC has launched the construction of a second line at its facility in Namangan, Chust district. The company was founded in 2019 and produces 200,000tpa of cement from the first stage of production. After the second stage is commissioned, the facility’s capacity will rise to 1.1Mta.
