North Macedonia’s Cementarnica Usje (Titan Cement) has reported a 21.5 per cent YoY rise in profit to MKD1.27bn (US$23.15m) in 2019. Domestic sales advanced 8.2 per cent to MKD3.15bn, while international sales climbed 8.7 per cent to MKD1.64bn. Operating revenue increased by 9.5 per cent to MKD5.03bn.

Brazilian cement sales stable in February

Cement sales in Brazil remained stable at 4.1Mt in February 2020 when compared with February 2019, according to the country’s cement association, SNIC. Cement consumption in Russia increased eight per cent to 57.8Mt in 2019, according to the country’s cement association, Soyuzcement. Argentina’s Loma Negra has reported a 5.5 per cent YoY decline in revenue to ARS38.95bn (US$660m) for the full-year 2019 period, compared with ARS41.24bn in the previous year. Taiwan’s major cement manufacturers have reported mixed results in the first two months of 2020. Taiwan Cement Corp Taiwan Cement Corp has seen a 1.7 per cent decline in February revenue to TWD5bn (US$166.8m) from TWD5.09bn a year earlier. Cemex and Buzzi Unicem complete Kosmos Cement sale to Eagle Materials Inc

Cemex has divested its 75 per cent share in its partnership with Buzzi Unicem of Kosmos Cement in Louisville, Kentucky, USA, to Eagle Materials Inc. The divestment is for an aggregate amount of US$665m, of which Cemex will receive approximately US$499m. Meanwhile, Buzzi Unicem has sold its 25 per cent share in Kosmos Cement to Eagle Materials Inc. The deal includes the divestment of the Louisville cement plant and seven terminals and raw material reserves.

LafargeHolcim Bangladesh profits grow in 2019

LafargeHolcim Bangladesh has posted profit after tax of BDT1.737bn (US$16.24m) in 2019 as compared to BDT1.115bn in 2018.  This represents a growth of 56 per cent in profit after tax YoY, says the cpmany.
