Tajikistan’s Mohir Cement Co has announced plans to construct a new 0.6Mta cement plant in Jaloliddin Balkhi district, Khatlon. Ecocem of Ireland has dropped plans for a grinding mill Vallejo, San Francisco Bay, California, USA, after project partner Vallejo Marine Terminal (VMT) withdrew from the proposed plant. Vietnamese market contracts 13%, but exports rise in April

Vietnamese cement sales fell by 13 per cent YoY and seven per cent MoM to 6,316,583t in April 2019, according to the Vietnam National Cement Association (VNCA). Of this total VICEM plants sold 2.158Mt, or three per cent less when compared with April 2018. Sales were down eight per cent from 2.338Mt in March 2019. The domestic cement industry of the Philippines has reported a 64 per cent increase in imports during the first quarter of 2019. Total shipments of Portland and blended cements in the USA and Puerto Rico fell slightly to 5.7Mt in February 2019 when compared with February 2018, according to the US Geological Survey (USGS). China’s Huaxin Cement Co Ltd has started construction on the 1.2Mta cement plant in Zafarabad district, Jizzakh region in Uzbekistan.
