PCA Regional Forecast: coasts to see strongest cement consumption growth

PCA's recently released Winter 2015-16 State Forecast maintains expectations for the strongest rates of cement consumption growth to occur in the West with YoY growth of six per cent. Cement industry statistics show that full-year 2015 consumption in Indonesia increased by 0.8 per cent YoY to 60.4Mt, while including exports, sales were up by 2.1 per cent to 61.448Mt. In November 2015 compared with October 2015, seasonally-adjusted production in the construction sector increased by 0.8 per cent in the euro area (EA19) and by 0.7 per cent in the EU28, according to first estimates from Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union. State-owned Vietnam Cement Industry Corporation (Vicem), the country’s leading cement producer, said it sold about 22.97Mt of cement and clinker in 2015, rising 4.2 per cent from a year ago and fulfilling 96.3 per cent of the whole-year’s target.
