Holcim (New Zealand) has selected Timaru and Auckland as the location for two new 30,000t bulk cement import terminals. The Bosowa Corporation said it plans to start construction of a new cement plant in Cilegon, Banten, in the first quarter of next year. Company CEO, Erwin Aksa, told the Jakarta Post that should construction begin in March 2014, operations could commence by the end of 2015. Sinoma and CITIC Heavy Industries have agreed deals worth US$733m to construct cement plants in Nigeria and Myanmar, respectively. Saudi cement sales fell 17 per cent in November 2013 to 3.65Mt compared to 4.37Mt in the same period in 2012. All companies reported a decline in sales with the exception of Northern Province Cement, Arabian Cement and Madinah Cement which saw increases of 58, 24 and 20 per cent, respectively, the report, based on data released by Yamamah Cement Company (YCC), said. Indocement eyes 6% sales growth in 2014

Indocement has set a growth target of six per cent next year on the back of new capacity additions and rising domestic demand. In the first nine months of the year, the company increased total cement and clinker volume by just 0.6 per cent per cent.
