Loma Negra posts 8% increase in 2Q revenues

Asia Cement reports TWD4458m net profit in 2Q22

Taiwan’s Asia Cement Corp posted revenues of TWD24,488m (US$816.3m) in the second quarter of 2022, up 9.2 per cent when compared with the 2Q21.  Pretax profit came in at TWD5620m in the period under review, down 17.4 per cent from TWD6805m in the year-ago period. The company also saw a net profit of TWD4458m in the 2Q22, representing a 1.3 per cent decrease when compared with the 2Q21, when net profit reached TWD4515m.

Taiwan Cement reports 21% hike in July revenue

Taiwan Cement has posted a revenue of TWD10,102.468m (US$336.3m) in July 2022, ,up 21.4 per cent when compared with TWD8,319.972m, , according to a filing on the Taiwan Stock Exchange. In the first seven months of 2022, revenues slipped 0.2 per cent to TWD58,247.2m from TWD58,343.336m in the 7M21.

Vietnam's Xuan Than Cement to commission Line 3 in October

Vietnamese cement producer Xuan Than Cement is expected to bring online its third line, with a cement capacity of 4.5Mta, at the end of October, according to local media. Upon completion, the production line will increase the company’s total capacity in Ha Nam province to 10Mta. The 2.3Mta Long Thanh project is also expected to be commissioned this year. It will add to an already-high cement supply in the 64Mta market.

Eagle Cement posts increase in net sales in 1H22

In the first half of 2022, Philippines-based Eagle Cement Corp saw its net sales advance to PHP13,680m (US$246m), compared to PHP11,057m in the same period a year earlier. Buzzi Unicem  recorded 1H22 net sales at EUR1880m, up 17 per cent compared to the 1H21 and EBITDA at EUR365m, an increase of 3.6 per cent on the 1H21. GCC invests US$750m to expand Odessa capacity

GCC plans to invest US$750m to expand its production capacity at its plant in Odessa , Texas, USA. The project will increase cement production capacity by more than 1Mta and reduce the plant’s greenhouse gas intensity by 13 per cent, according to a statement sent to the Mexican Stock Exchange. Pakistan dispatched a 2.039Mt of cement during July 2022, down 47.7 per cent from 3.899Mt during the same month of the last fiscal year. According to the data released by the APCMA, local cement dispatches by the industry during July 2022 were 1.88Mt compared to 3.44Mt in July 2021, showing a decline of 45.3 per cent.
