MAN Truck & Bus Schweiz supplies Holcim Switzerland

MAN Truck & Bus Schweiz AG has again handed over vehicles to its long-standing customer Holcim Switzerland. This time the vehicles will be used by Holcim Gravel and Concrete Ltd at its Mülligen site. The two powerful MAN TGS 18.510 4x4H BL semitrailer tractors, which not only have a switchable Hydrostatic HydroStatic Front Axle Drive HydroDrive ® , but are also equipped with all kinds of safety equipment, pull a three-axle tipper semitrailer from Schmitz Cargobill AG.

Mannok's sales director becomes vice chairperson of MPANI

Paddy Mohan, Mannok's Cement sales director, has taken the role of Vice Chairperson for the Mineral Products Association Northern Ireland (MPANI), an industry body which represents the entire mineral products industry in Northern Ireland and an organisation which Paddy has been a member of for 24 years. This new role marks an important milestone for Paddy as he previously had to step down from his role of vice chairperson shortly after he was elected in 2009 due to an illness.  

Buzzi Unicem records strong growth in Italy in 2021

Buzzi Unicem has announced its consolidated financial results of 2021 which saw cement and clinker sales rise by 6.7 per cent to 31.2Mt from 29.25Mt in 2020. EBITDA reached EUR795m and EBIT stood at EUR546m, an improvement of about four per cent at constant exchange rates. This week HeidelbergCement and Calix announced that the Low Emissions Intensity Lime And Cement 2 (LEILAC-2) carbon capture project has passed its Financial Investment Decision (FID) milestone and can go on to the implementation phase at HeidelbergCement's Hanover cement plant, Germany. Building material producer SigmaRoc plc has announced its audited results for the year ended 31 December 2021 with turnover more than doubling to GBP272m and underlying EBITDA rising to GBP49.3m. FLSmidth has now received regulatory clearances from the Australian, South African, Peruvian and Chilean authorities for its acquisition of thyssenkrupp's mining business. MDG Handling Solutions (MDG) has been awarded participation in the Spirit project of HeidelbergCement, which is being carried out at the Leimen and Schelklingen cement plants, Germany.
