Chilean cement company, Cementos Bio Bio SA, said Wednesday that based on its preliminary findings it doesn’t expect Saturday’s deadly earthquake to affect its financial situation. CRH sees sharp reductions in Irish, Finnish and Ukrainian cement volumes

Nigeria’s Dangote Cement signed a US$95m deal with a unit of Germany’s Siemens AG on Tuesday for three gas turbines. Dangote Cement, Nigeria’s largest cement producer, said Siemens International Turbomachinery would provide the turbines for its 5Mta Ibese cement plant in Ogun state, which is currently under construction. ACC despatches down 2.3% in Feb

ACC Ltd, the country’s largest cement producer, today said its despatches declined 2.3 per cent at 1.71Mt in February 2010 compared to 1.75Mt during the corresponding month previous year. The company, in which Holcim holds more than 46 per cent, said the production dipped 1.2 per cent at 1.72Mt in the month, whereas it was 1.74Mt in February 2009, a statement said.
