Prices of Portland cement and sulphate-resistant cement in Abu Dhabi fell almost 7% in October when compared to September, due to falling demand. The Union Bridge Community Comprehensive Plan adopted in 2008 is under review after Lehigh Cement Co. officials requested that a proposed road that would have crossed the company’s property be removed from the plan. Cemex expects its U.S. cement volumes to grow next year as the U.S. housing market recovers and the company aims to extend its debt maturities, Chief Executive Lorenzo Zambrano said on Friday. Australian building materials group Boral Ltd said on Wednesday market conditions in the first half of this year remained difficult, and it was keeping a lid on production to match weak demand.
