The Ohorongo cement factory has received a kiln and two mill cylinders for the cement plant, which is being constructed on the Farm Sargberg north of Otavi. Vietnam cement consumption in Oct stands at 3.51Mt

Vietnam’s total cement consumption rose slightly to 3.51Mt in Oct., the Dau Tu newspaper reported Monday, citing the Ministry of Construction. The figure has raised the country’s cement consumption to 35.82Mt in the first 10 months of 2009, meeting 81.4% of full-year target. In Jan-Oct, Vietnam’s cement production output reached 36.31Mt, including 3.55Mt in October. Vietnam is forecast to use between 44Mt and 45Mt this year, the ministry said.

Binani Cement today said it is hopeful of concluding the transaction for coal mine acquisition in Indonesia in the next two to three months. "We are still negotiating, but hope to conclude the deal in the next two to three months," Binani Cement Managing Director Vinod Juneja told PTI.
