Taiwan’s Asia Cement: Sichuan unit to resume production shortly

Asia Cement Corp  said its wholly-owned unit Sichuan YaDong Cement Corp will resume production in a day or two after inspecting its production facilities following yesterday’s earthquake in China. A kiln of YaDong Cement, located 70km from the epicenter of the quake in southwest China, was shut down after a power outage caused by the tremor, it said in a filing with the stock exchange.

Tanga Cement withdraws court action on Tanesc, Tanzania

Saudi Northern Region Cement to build plant in Jordan

Saudi cement producer Northern Region Cement Co will invest SAR250m (US$66.7m) in the construction of a cement plant in Jordan, the company said on May 13, 2008.   The plant will cover an area of 200,000m2 east of the capital Amman, and will have an annual output of 1Mt. US Appeal Court overrules Titan Cement Florida mining ban
