India’s cement prices seen stabilising

India’s cement prices are expected to stabilise, the junior industry minister told local press on the sidelines of a conference on Friday.    "Post-ban on cement exports, the prices are bound to stabilise because that much more cement will become available in the country. The mismatch between demand-supply will be addressed to that extent, " Ashwani Kumar, junior industry minister said.

Shortage of cement on Guam hinders construction projects

A shortage of cement on Guam is hindering the completion of a number of local construction projects, according to local press reports. Derek Sadler, of Hanson Permanent Cement, the sole provider of cement to Guam, says shipping problems are to be blamed for the shortage. CBMI to build Vassiliko clinker plant

Vassiliko Cement Works Pcl  has signed a letter of intent with CBMI Constructions Co Ltd of China for the construction of a new modern clinker production unit of 2Mta capacity. The scarcity of cement currently being faced in Cameroon will soon be a thing of the past. The statement was made by one of the five cement importers in the country during interview by the CRTV. Stronger revenue helped Cementos Lima SA post first-quarter net income of PEN52.6m (US$18.9m) compared with PEN41.1m in the same quarter in the previous year.   The company said Wednesday that total revenue rose to PEN204.5m in the first quarter compared with PEN189.6m in the same period a year earlier.   Cementos Lima is the largest cement producer in Peru.
