China National Materials Co Ltd said its unit, Sinoma Cement Co Ltd, plans to build two cement production lines in the eastern province of Jiangxi for a total cost of CNY1bn. The mainland-based construction materials supplier said Sinoma Cement will set up a joint venture with Jiangxi Zhengda Cement Co Ltd to pursue the project. Total revenue of the Oman Cement Company (OCC) was RO50.01mn for the year ended December 2007, an increase of 1% from RO49.71m in the previous year. Eurocement Group to invest US$639m in development

The Eurocement Group has signed an investment agreement on cooperation with the government of the Chelyabinsk Region (in the Urals) and the administration of the Katav-Ivanovsk municipal district. It envisages the investment of at least RUR15bn (US$639m) in the development of Katavsky Cement by 2012.   In December 2012, the town’s primary plant intends to put into operation a new technological line with an annual output of 2.2-3.5Mt of cement. The plant’s current capacity is 1.55Mt.

Truong Thinh cement plant added to Vietnam Development Plan

Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has approved the Ministry of Construction’s proposal on adding Truong Thinh cement plant to the Vietnam cement industry development plan by 2010, a vision to 2020.   The cement plant, to be located in central Quang Binh province, will have production line 1 capacity of 5,000 tons of clinker a day.   The project, estimated to cost a total of VND3 trillion ($187.5m), will include two mills, one in Tuyen Hoa district and the other in Bo Trach district. ...
