Gansu Qilianshan Cement Co announced on Monday that it has inked an agreement with China National Building Material Co (CNBM) on March 14, under which CNBM will buy 50 million new shares from the cement maker. PT Indocement Tunggal Prakarsa, Indonesia’s second largest cement maker by sales, Tuesday said net profit rose to IDR983.69 billion ($m) in 2007 from IDR592.80bn the previous year.     It said net revenue rose to IDR7.32 trillion from IDR6.33 trillion, with operating profit rising 48% to IDR1.58 trillion.

Qatar National Cement Company (QNCC) is set to boost capacity by commissioning two cement kilns – in April and June of this year. Mr Ashwani Kumar, India’s union state minister of industry, said that cement prices in India have stabilised since March 2007 and there was no plan to set up a separate regulator for the sector.
