Pakistan’s cement exports have witnessed a healthy growth of 140 per cent to all-time high level of 4.2611Mt during the first eight months of the current fiscal year, industry sources said. UAE-based Fujairah Cement Industries said profit in 2007 rose 16 perc ent, helped by higher production. Net income advanced to AED173.2m (US$47.2m) from AED150m in 2006, the company said in a statement posted on the Abu Dhabi Securities Market Web site on Sunday. Sinoma International Engineering Co Ltd  said it signed equipment, procurement and construction (EPC) contracts covering seven cement production lines with four affiliates of Nigeria’s Dangote Industries Ltd. FLSmidth has signed a mill contract with Votorantim Cimentos, Ltda, headquartered in São Paulo, Brazil. Votorantim to build cement plant in Georgia
