Population increase expected to fuel cement consumption increases

HeidelbergCement boosts cement output in Ukraine 18% in Jan-Nov

HeidelbergCement Group’s Ukrainian plants increased cement production by 18.2% YoY to 3.985Mt in the first 11 months of 2007, sources at the plants said.      Production was up 150% to 363,700t at Donbass Cement, 23.5% to 1.717Mt at Doncement and 5.7% to 1.389Mt at Kryvy Rih Cement, but down 1.6% to 515,000t at Dniprocement.  

JK Cement to set up manufacturing unit in UAE

Cambodia inaugurates 2.7Mt plant

Cambodia has inaugurated its largest cement plant with a designed capacity of 2.7Mta in the coastal province of Kampot.     The cement plant is a joint venture between Cambodian building firm Khaou Chuly Group and Thailand’s Siam Cement with a total investment capital of US$127m.     The plant in fact was put into operation in the middle of 2006 since the completion of its first stage, producing 960,000t of cement per year.     The plant is scheduled to operate in full capacity by 2012.  ...

BaselCement, Itera to form JV to build cement plants

Dyckerhoff ups output 15% in Ukraine

The Ukrainian plants of  Dyckerhoff  increased cement production by 14.95% YoY to 2.419Mt in the first 11 months of 2007.     The Yugtsement plant increased production by 15.1% to 1.008Mt, and Volyn Cement raised output 14.8% to 1.411Mt, sources at the plants told Interfax.  

Gresik to carry out expansion plan this year

Angola government gives green light to private cement project

The Angolan government has recently formalised the private investment project called "New Cement Factory of Lobito", by publishing its approval in the State Gazette.      The Executive also authorised the granting Secil the site to build the factory, by the provincial government of Benguela.     Besides other things, the project is aimed at reducing the importation of cement and give response to the high demand of this product in the country, so as to stabilise the market.    

Egypt to re-offer cement plant licence
