Pakistan producers pay Rs900m less tax on lower prices

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has found that the cement manufacturers paid Rs900 million less tax during the first six months (July-Dec) of the current fiscal year owing to price reduction of Rs80 per bag of cement. India Cements profit up

India Cement reported a net profit of Rs. 127.05 crore in the three months ended December 31, 2007 against Rs. 79.78 crore in the year-ago period. Cement sales in Morocco climbed to 12.8Mt in 2007, an increase of 12.6 per cent compared with 2006, according to a report published in Al-Sharq Al-Awsat newspaper.
