Cementos Molins buys 65 per cent of Sotacib for EUR86m

Aditya Birla Dec cement shipments up 7.7 per cent YoY

India’s Aditya Birla Group said on Thursday its cement shipments in December rose 7.7 percent from a year earlier to 2.7Mt.     It said cement production rose 4.1 per cent to 2.62Mt.     The group includes flagship Grasim Industries Ltd and UltraTech Cement Ltd , with a combined cement making capacity of more than 31Mt.

Pakistan cement sales jump 24 per cent, exports soar

China National Material granted option to acquire Jidong Cement

China National Materials Co Ltd (CNBM) said its parent China National Materials Group Corp has granted it an option and pre-emptive right to acquire Jidong Cement Group Co Ltd. ACC increased cement production 6.2 per cent to 19.92Mt cement from January to December 2007, compared to 18.73Mt previously.     It despatched 19.88Mt cement, compared to 18.71Mt previously.     During December 2007, ACC produced 1.58Mt of cement, compared to 1.65Mt previously.     It sold 1.57Mt of cement, compared to 1.67Mt.

Shree Cement Dec shipments up 15% YoY

Shree Cement Ltd said on Wednesday its December shipments rose 14.54 per cent to 5.12Mt from 4.47Mt a year earlier.     It’s total shipments between April to December 2007 rose 23.06 per cent to 4.36Mt from 3.54Mt in the same period a year ago, the company said in a statement.     The cement maker has a capacity to produce 8Mt of cement annually at its plant in the northern state of Rajasthan.
