Anhui Conch Cement Co, China’s largest cement producer by output, Friday said its 2006 net profit almost quadrupled from a year earlier, helped by sales growth in rural areas and an increase in exports. The company posted net profit of CNY1.48bn for 2006, up from CNY385.8m in 2005, under international accounting standards. Iran completing Syrian cement plant

Iran’s Ehdasse Sanat Corp will complete a cement production plant in Syria by the end of the Iranian year on March 20, 2008. "The plant is under construction in the city of Hama and is slated to produce 1Mta of cement," said Ahmad Hallajian, the managing director of the Ehdasse Sanat Corp. Limak Ergani Cimento increases production capacity by 50%

General manager of Limak Group’s Ergani cement factory, Huseyin Sahan, said that the plant’s production capacity was increased by 50%. In 2005, Limak placed the highest bid for Ergani cement plant, which was offered by the saving deposit insurance fund, with USD 120.7mn.
