Tororo Cement doubles capacity

Murli Agro Products Ltd today said it will acquire 847 hectares to set up a proposed mines and greenfield cement plant at Maharastra. Pakistan cement sector registers 16 per cent growth

The cement sector has registered 16 per cent growth during the last four months from July to October against the corresponding period of last year, sources told Business Recorder on Friday. The Board of Investments (BoI) recently granted pioneer status and income tax holidays (ITH) to a P7-billion greenfield cement plant in Bulacan, even as it slapped strict guidelines on any ownership transfer while the firm is enjoying these perks. India Grasim signs pact with Orissa government for cement unit

India’s Grasim Industries Ltd, the flagship company of the Aditya Birla group said it signed a pact with the government of Orissa state to set up a 3.5Mt integrated cement unit in the state’s Sundergarh district.    The cement unit will be set up at a cost of INR12bn ($268.456m), the company said in a statement.    Grasim said that this is the largest cement project in Orissa state and is expected to be commissioned in three years. 

Lebanon producers threaten to abandon postwar price ceiling
