Cement production of PT Semen Gresik Tbk during the first nine months of the year has increased by 10 per cent from that during the same period of 2005, while the national cement production has declined by 5.6 per cent. Uzbekistan plans to build three new cement plants

UzStroyMateriali (Uzbek Construction Materials) association plans to build three large plants for the  production of Portland cement. Pravda Vostoka reported that the plants will be located at Karakalpakstan, Surkgandarya region and Jizzakh region. Total capacity of these plants will be 2.5Mt of Portland cement per year. According to preliminary estimates, the cost of these three plants equals to US$w50m.

Romanian Carpatcement Holding, a unit of  HeidelbergCement, sees its turnover reach between EUR250m and EUR270m in 2007, when it plans to invest some EUR35m the company said.    For 2006, the company projects a turnover of between EUR230m and EUR240m, up from EUR194m reported for 2005.    HeidelbergCement closed 2005 with a turnover of EUR7.8bn (US$9.9bn).
