China Tianrui Group Cement Co said its profit attributable to owners for the six months ended 30 June 2017 surged 175 per cent YoY to CNY489m (US$74m). Revenue amounted to CNY3785m, an increase of 22.3 per cent from a year earlier. Gross profit grew 51.3 per cent YoY to CNY1174m. Azerbaijan cement production up 24% YoY in 7M17

Around 1.578Mt of cement were produced in Azerbaijan in the first seven months of 2017, representing a YoY increase of 24.1 per cent, according to the Azerbaijani state statistics committee. First-half of 2017 data indicate that local producers control 99 per cent of the market with an output of 1.29Mt. Imports during the six months reached 14,000t, with a value of US$2.9m. In 1H16 38,700t of cement were imported.

Cuban cement market sees 47% cement price hike

Cement prices have increased 47 per cent from CUP112 (US$4.23)/42.5kg bag of P350 cement to CUP165. Lower-quality cement has seen its price jump from CUP89/bag to CUP109.20. The California State Lands Commission has unanimously approved the phase out of operations at Cemex’s Lapis sand plant. This agreement reflects a settlement of disputes with the State Lands Commission, California Coastal Commission and the City of Marina over the historical operations of the more than 110-year old Lapis sand plant.
