Vietnam's cement and clinker consumption rises in 9M17

The total consumption of cement and clinker from Vietnam cement producers grew six per cent to 59.27Mt in the first nine months of this year, reports the Ministry of Construction. Building materials price rise sees 8% reduction in Mexican public works

Dominican Republic cement production tops 2.6Mt in 1H17

In the first half of 2017 cement production in the Dominican Republic reached 2,612,099t, according to data released by the Dominican Central Bank. Cement plants in Kenya have reduced production by seven per cent to 4.2Mt in the year to August, down from 4.5Mt. The cutbacks came amid decreases in cement consumption, data from Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS) shows. PCA updates US annual cement consumption forecast

Portland Cement Association's (PCA) Market Intelligence Group has forecast annual cement consumption to climb in the USA by 2.6 per cent during 2017 and 2.8 per cent in 2018. The updated forecast adjusts downward PCA projections released earlier this year. Swiss Cement distribution falls by 2.7% in 3Q17

Deliveries of Swiss cement in the 3Q17 saw a slight decrease in shipments of 2.7 per cent compared with the same period last year. Compared with the 2Q17, sales were down further at -4.7 per cent.  At the end of September, total YtD shipments were down by 3.5 per cent compared to the previous year.
